I assigned the letters to their same notes, and T to F#. When it got a little too boring or nonmelodic, I jumped up an octave on a few F#s and Gs. The only real difference between the two is that in the second I added some guitar chords. Nothing radical, but it underscores a certain harmonic resolution that I stumbled upon, in which several phrases came back to the dominant chord (G). It helps it sound more like a regular western hemisphere song. I intentionally kept the rhythm monotonous so that I could hear where the notes/phrases were going. If I work on this more I would play around much more with variance of rhythm/phrasing.
